Conor Oberst
Conor Oberst - Conor Oberst CD/LP (Merge)
Conor assembled a special band in Mexico for this recording, known amongst themselves and to friends as The Mystic Valley Band. Members include Nate Walcott, Jason Boesel, Macey Taylor, Nik Freitas, and Taylor Hollingsworth. The result is his first solo album in thirteen years, following "Water" (1993), "Here's To Special Treatment" (1994), and "Soundtrack To My Movie" (1995). In that time, he's recorded and performed in Commander Venus, Park Ave., Desaparecidos, and most notably Bright Eyes, his main musical vehicle for the past decade. LISTEN

American Teen

American Teen intimately follows the lives of four teenagers in Warsaw, Indiana through their senior year of high school. The film was directed by Nanette Burstein (On The Ropes, The Kid Stays In The Picture) who previously received an Academy Award nomination for Best Documentary and the Sundance Special Jury Prize for Documentary. American Teen competed in the Documentary Competition at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival where it won the Jury Award for Independent Film Competition, Directing- Documentary. Soundtrack features music from Black Kids, The Ting Tings and MGMT, as well as exclusive tracks from Frou Frou (Jason Bentley remix), Nyles Lannon and Ryan Lindsey.

Skin Deep is the latest album from blues legend Buddy Guy, now a sprightly 72 years old. The album features stellar guest appearances from artists including Eric Clapton, Robert Randolph, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks. Any discussion of Buddy Guy invariably involves a recitation of his colossal musical resume and hard-earned accolades. Amongst others, he is a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Grammy Award winner (5 times), W.C. Handy Blues Award winner (23 times), Billboard Magazine Century Award Winner and a chief guitar influence to rock titans like Hendrix and Clapton.LISTEN

Mike Gordon
Mike Gordon - The Green Sparrow CD (Rounder/UMGD )
An artist known for his endless creativity and touring stamina, Mike Gordon took 2007 off and dedicated his time to writing this new album. With guest appearances from his Phishmates - Trey Anastasio and Page McConnell - Mike also enlists help from The Grateful Dead's Bill Kreutzmann, Ivan Neville and Chuck Leavell (Rolling Stones, Allman Bros. Band). This record will not disappoint fans in any way! The end result is an eclectic record boasting the former Phish bassist's skillful assimilation of free-form rock & roll, calypso, pop and funk that also showcases an unexpected side to his songwriting. Paul Weller
Paul Weller - 22 Dreams CD (Yep Roc)
Paul Weller's 22 Dreams is the latest chapter in a creative journey spanning 30 years, with material spanning the full breadth of popular music - rock to classical, avant garde to funk and spoken word to experimental. In addition to a cast of Weller's frequent collaborators, 22 Dreams also features some of the largest beneficiaries of Weller's incalculable musical influence. Noel Gallagher and Gem Archer from Oasis lend their talents to 'Echoes Around the Sun,' a writing collaboration between Weller and Gallagher. Ex-Blur guitarist Graham Coxon appears on 'Black River.' The spirit of collaboration and an in-the-moment creative approach have resulted in one of Weller's most spirited works and one that is sure to expand the artistic canon of the one and only 'Modfather.'
